A drysuit keeps water out. It does not create warmth on its own. Your insulation comes from what you wear underneath, and that setup should match water temperature, air temperature, activity level, and how long you expect to be exposed. How to layer drysuit systems correctly

Fleece bibs, union suits, and one-piece liners work well because they stay in place and reduce gaps at the waist. On the legs, avoid bunching behind the knees or extra seams that can become uncomfortable during long sessions.

If your drysuit has integrated socks, your insulating sock system is a key part of comfort. Start with a moisture-wicking sock, then add a thicker insulating sock if conditions call for it. Finally, do not assume one setup works all season. Early spring, late fall, and winter conditions can shift quickly, and the best layer system is the one you adjust on purpose.
